A lovely example of Joseph Jennens & Co silver in the form of a salt cellar complete with liner, dated 1912.
The history of Joseph Jennens & Co. can be traced back to the button and military ornament maker, Charles Jennens, who was noted as being in business at 316, Oxford Street, London in 1807. During the course of the ninteenth century they were styled in a variety of titles, but always featuring the name Jennens. The existence of Jennens & Co ended in 1924.
The salt cellar boasts paw feet and the a blue glass liner. The cellar shows signs wear consistent with age, but remains in a very good condition overall.
