An exceptional and charming 18th century mahogany bureau of unusually small proportions. The bureau has retained its original brass handles and escutcheons, and has a working lock with the original key. The wood has desirable deep patination throughout.
The bureau has a rectangular top which, when unlocked, opens to reveal four small brass handled draws and seven framed pigeon holes. This sits above four graduated dovetailed drawers raised upon bracket feet. All drawers have their original boards in a good clean condition, protected with a removable inner liner.
An exceptional and exceedingly rare piece.
