A pair of fine 19th century watercolour portraits of very good proportions (at 64cm high), each housed in its original carved gilt wood frame.
The first portrait is of a younger lady with gold brooch, the second is of an older lady in mourning dress. The works are unsigned but are extremely well executed with excellent use of light and colour with exceptional attention to detail throughout. The original glazed frames are substantial and have delicate foliate carving throughout. A 'Rowley Gallery, Kensington' sticker is to the verso of each frame.
An extremely attractive pair of works.
