A well executed oil on canvas depicting a country scene by British artist J. J. Johnson, signed and dated '1909'.
The work has textural paint with some craquelure evident in areas (most notably to the left hand side) but generally remains in a very good condition overall. The work is housed in a gilt frame of the period, which has some small losses and evidence of historic woodworm verso (please see photographs).
