A delightful Grand Tour bronze of Spinario, c.1880.
The Spinario has no known story, but it was celebrated as a supremely beautiful representation of the human body in complex action.
This example has lovely proportions and sits upon white veined marble which provides a contrast to the bronze itself, allowing it to shine.
The piece has some light wear commensurate with age but generally remains in a very good condition throughout.
