A charming George II provincial oak bird cage tilt top table, c.1740.
The original three plank oak top sits above a very attractive bird cage structure which rotates 360 degrees. The table locks into place via the original blacksmith-made iron catch. Note the blacksmith-made catch indicates that this table is a provincial/country piece opposed to a metropolitan piece. The catch has a very functional historic wooden repair to ensure its continuing function.
The table is in a wonderful condition throughout, boasting oak of truly exceptional colour and patina.
