A charming set of five portraits, all inscribed on the back with the sitter, location and date; namely Lisburn (Ireland) September 1833. The sitter names are largely illegible but do indicate that the portraits are of a local Dean, his wife and two daughters. Note there are two portraits of the Dean, one slightly more untidy in its execution than the other.
The portraits are very well executed with stunning attention to detail picked out in gilt. All portraits are housed in their original identical glazed, ebonised and gilt frames. There is light wear commensurate with age but generally the portraits and their frames remain in a very good attractive condition.
A lovely set.
