The SS Blue Cross in a storm, signed 'F. Corpuz, Antwerp' and dated '1909'. Gouache on board. The SS Blue Cross was a British steamship managed by the Whitby-based firm Storm & Co. that frequently sailed routes through Antwerp, Belgium, during the early 20th century.
The work is well executed with real depth and verve. There is some light creasing in areas but generally the work is in a very good condition indeed. Housed in a period oak frame.
