A handsome early Victorian period oak and brass mounted hall stand by James Shoolbred & Co.
The hall stand is in true 'country house' condition with various knocks and repairs throughout. The brass gallery to the top shelf is absent as is the tray liner. The brass registration mark has been almost lost, with only the top part remaining. Repaired split to the back.
The hall stand still strikes an imposing figure and exudes quality, a true mark of the maker.
