An early 19th century sycamore spice tower. The tower consists of four tiers, labelled:
- Mace
- Cloves
- Cinnamon
- Nutmegs
Each wooden tier unscrews to reveal the relevant compartment beneath.
The tower's cap has a small split to the wood and the 'Nutmegs' compartment has a very small hole (please see photographs). Overall the set remains in a very attractive condition with all labels present and legible, and all compartments fitting together as they should. The wood has also absorbed a wonderful scent of nutmeg and cloves from 200 years of use which adds to this piece's charm.
