A mid-19th century Dolland of London 'Day or Night' brass and mahogany telescope, complete with its original mahogany and brass folding adjustable tripod.

The 'Day or Night' telescope is suitable for all light conditions thus can be used for terrestrial or astronomical observation.

The telescope boasts a mahogany and brass barrel. The brass has some light 'dings' and scratches consistent with age (please see photographs). All lenses are intact and in working order. The eye piece retains the original dust cover. The tubes are in a good condition with 'Dolland London Day or Night' clearly inscribed.

The tripod is also in a very good condition and stands firm. The bottom part of each tripod can be unscrewed to adjust the telescope from standing height to sitting height.

A stunning telescope from a renowned London maker, in an exceptionally rare original condition being complete with the adjustable brass and mahogany tripod.
