An attractive 18th century Georgian walnut lowboy, with crossbanding and featherbanding to the top, crossbanded sides and four dovetailed drawers bordered by a half feather above a shaped apron, all upon four cabriole legs terminating in pad feet.
The lowboy is of an unusual configuration with two long over two short drawers. This, together with the use of half feather banding, indicates that it was likely a country-made piece.
The piece has undergone full restoration in its past, with evidence of repair to the rear right leg and historic woodworm repairs to the sides. Note the front top left drawer retains small signs of historic woodworm to its front. The brasses are later replacements. A wood shrinkage split runs the length of the top.
An attractive piece of great colour.
