Synopsis
'English Battles and Sieges in the Peninsula' is a work extracted from Sir William Napier's six-volume, 'History of the War in the Peninsula'. It covers the British army's campaigns under Wellington (1808-1814), focusing on key battles (Vimeiro, Salamanca) and sieges (Ciudad Rodrigo, Badajoz). This work highlights the tactical, strategic, and often brutal nature of the war that saw British, Portuguese, and Spanish forces drive Napoleon's army out of the Iberian Peninsula.
