A substantial Charles II 17th century oak gate leg table of lovely proportions and colour.
The table is full of character with all the hallmarks sought for in a table of this period, namely historic repairs and areas of wear consistent with years of historic use. The table was likely provincially made and the underside reveals an extremely attractive carved frieze design to two sides indicating the maker used reclaimed wood for these panels.
The table has a good thick top and the wood has a stunning patina throughout which really comes alive in natural light (please see photographs).
A truly charming and impressive piece.
