In 1848, Giovanni Apa, supreme Master goldsmith, founded his studio in Torre del Greco, a town on the Gulf of Naples at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, which since the time of the Bourbon Kingdom of Naples, is known worldwide as a centre of excellence of coral works. Each Giovanni Apa jewel is the fruit of a long and expert craftsmanship where artistic talent and technical skills combine to create pieces different from one another, real works of art with an inimitable artistic value.

Giovanni Apa is synonymous with high quality and great skill in manufacturing, and is recognised internationally. For many years, it markets its creations worldwide, boasting demanding customers and true connoisseurs of the artistic-traditional manufacturing of coral and cameos. In the historic venue of Torre del Greco you can visit the museum room with antique collections of coral jewellery and cameos.

This piece is a stunning example of a Giovanni Apa craftsmanship. A fine cameo mounted in a 14 carat yellow gold mount with a pin fastener and an additional fold over bail enabling the brooch to be worn as a pendant.

The reverse of the cameo is signed 'G.APA' and is fully hallmarked for 14 carat gold and Giovanni Apa's maker's mark.
