A substantial William IV sarcophagus cellarette of large proportions and unusual form circa.1830. The cellarette has a London maker's stamp, pull out drawer and wholly original lead lined interior, complete with original plug.
The interior has two large chambers and a central narrow chamber in which the plug sits. When pulled, the plug opens a recess which drains to the bottom lead lined drawer which can then be removed. A worn London maker's stamp is present to the inside lid, with '[....]London, Cabinet Maker & Upholsterer' remaining legible. The exterior mahogany boasts wonderful age and patina throughout. The cellarette sits upon castors which are clean and rotate with ease.
A superb piece.
