A very fine and attractive bon bon basket, fully hallmarked for James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield, 1893.
The basket boasts a wonderful pierced foliate design with flowers to the border and base. The base shows some losses to the silver at each side; the losses appear to be deliberate in their placement and arched form, thus it appears to be a later deliberate alteration to the design (please see photographs).
Overall the basket is in a good condition, very striking and attractive.
