A wonderful and scarce set of three 'Oxford Lavender' glass scent bottles, c.1850.

These delightful bottles originally held a small amount of perfume and were to be discarded after use, hence they are rather scarce items today.

Each bottle in this collection is in an excellent condition and retains its original glass stopper. The enamel painted floral bottle has its original cotton firmly in place around the stopper keeping it in place; this has not been removed so as to preserve the piece in its original state.

The largest bottle in the set has loosely painted gilt floral detail throughout. The second largest is the most ornate with delicately painted blue and white enamel floral decoration and raised gilt to the centre of the flowers. The smallest bottle has crisp gilt line decoration and a tapered base. Every bottle has gilt to the stopper, top and base.

A scarce and beautiful collection.
