An oil on canvas depicting a white horse in a stable, signed and dated 'R. Cooper, 1849' to the lower right. Initials 'J.S' can be seen to the bucket.
The work is housed in its original birdseye maple frame which has losses to the left hand edge and historic woodworm damage to the top front edge. The canvas itself has craquelure throughout and a historic patch repair but the paint is stable and canvas tension is good.
