A pair of early 19th century French Louis XVI style giltwood girandole oval mirrors.
Both mirrors are surmounted with swag / ribbon detail and have a two scroll apron arm branches finalised with a carved acanthus leaf. Both have retained their original mercury plates which have aged beautifully with delicate foxing throughout.
Both frames show signs of wear commensurate with age with fading, some splits to the wood in areas and evidence of historic repairs to the girandoles (please see photographs). Both mirrors remain structurally sound.
An attractive pair of early 19th century girandole mirrors, full of character.
