A charming late 19th/early 20th century folk art painted solid pine rocking horse.
The horse is substantial and remains solid and structurally sound. There are hand holds to either side of the face, a seat back incorporated as the tail, and foot holds to either side of the body. The rocking horse itself is beautifully painted, well proportioned with wonderful attention to detail. Each end of the rocking horse has a finely painted image, a boat to the front and cherub to the back. The paint throughout the piece has a lovely patina commensurate with age.
A truly delightful piece of folk art which would look stunning in a nursery, or part of a folk art collection.
