An unusually large 19th century Indian brass powder flask in the form of an articulated fish.
The flask is of outstanding quality, beautifully articulated from head to tail creating realistic movement. The head boasts fine embossed features topped with two amber glass cabochon eyes. Small articulated fins flank the head and tail, note the fin to the front left of the flask is absent. The flask retains its original screw top lid which opens and closes as it should. The underside of the flask shows a small amount of wear near the tail (please see photographs).
A truly stunning example with an exceptional patina throughout.
