A large 17th century French school portrait depicting a lady in mourning. The features of the lady depicted are very similar to that of Anne of Austria, Queen of France, who was famously painted in mourning dress on several occasions, not least by Rubens in 1622.
The portrait has crazing in areas and some small paint losses. The work has no visible signature.
The frame has losses to the left side of the frame and bottom right corner (please see photographs) but remains attractive nonetheless.
Dimensions (framed):-
Height: 89.5cm
Width: 77.5cm
Depth: 6cm
