A late 19th/early 20th century Grand Tour silvered metal model of the Capitoline Wolf upon an alabaster base.
The Capitoline Wolf represents the ancient legend of the founding of Rome. It is a bronze sculpture of the she-wolf suckling the twins, Romulus and Remus, and is housed in the Capitoline Museums, Rome.
There is some light wear commensurate with age but generally the piece is in a very good, attractive condition.
