A Georgian oak bookcase cupboard, c.1800.
The piece is of an unusual form with the cupboard sat upon a chest of drawers comprising of five long shallow drawers below two short deep. Each drawer has brass drop handles and escutcheon. Working lock and key present for cupboard. Key for drawers is absent. The cupboard is affixed to the drawers by means of two later screws to the inside base of the cupboard.
The cupboard has two shelves, both later but of good sound condition. There is a small hole to the drawer side of the second long drawer and very small areas of historic woodworm to the bottom inside rim of the cupboard and back board; the whole piece has been woodworm treated in abundance of caution. Generally the piece remains in a good condition overall with great colour.
