A stunning substantial George III mahogany drawers, c.1780. Possibly Irish. The key is present and all drawers lock and open with ease.
The moulded mahogany top sits above two short and three long graduated cockbeaded drawers with later brasses, the whole raised upon four bracket feet.
There is some wear commensurate with age, most notably a few surface scratches to the top and small spots of uneven colour to the drawer fronts in places. Historic restoration evident.
The timbers throughout are of excellent quality and the piece boasts a wonderful colour from every angle.
A very handsome chest of drawers.
Provenance: Wicklow, Ireland.
