A very attractive art deco Czech crystal decanter by Karl Palda of large proportions.
The Palda glassworks began in 1888 in Haida, Novy Bor, Bohemia and is most famous for its pieces made in the period of 1933-1938 when striking and inventive geometric designs became a departure from the classic two toned crystal goblets and decanters with floral carved designs.
This Karl Palda decanter boasts a very striking black and white geometric design which screams art deco.
There is an imperfection to the base of the decanter which appears to be within the glass itself and thus is likely a flaw in manufacture. There are some light signs of wear commensurate with age, namely light scratches in places to the geometric design and a nibble to the stopper end.
