An 18th century and later mahogany cabinet on stand of unusual form with working locks and keys.
The lid of the cabinet boasts two finely carved foo dogs finials sat either side of the delicate brass gallery, the lid opens to reveal a chest compartment which sits above two drawers, all above tapered legs united by a lower shelf with a further brass gallery.
The cabinet and stand are probably a later marriage. The foo dog finials are also likely a later addition, indicating the cabinet may have previously been used as a tea cabinet.
There is some light wear commensurate with age to the top and the left foo dog is missing a portion of the tail.
An extremely attractive and versatile piece. Perfect for use as a hall stand, drinks cabinet or lamp table.
