An outstanding Old Master School 18th century portrait of a gentleman. Oil on paper, laid to panel.
The portrait depicts a bearded man in a brown suit with white collar. The features are meticulously depicted with outstanding use of light throughout the face. There are some paint losses to the extremities and a small historic crease to the cheek. High gloss varnish. The whole is housed in a later gilt frame which displays well.
