A highly unusual late 19th century bronze and coconut table vesta of large proportions, c.1880. Originally likely a country house smoking companion but fully functional as a table vesta for toothpicks, candle matches, small cutlery etc.
The tree form bronze branch top fans out above three hollowed out and lined coconuts nestled amongst bronze branches, all of which descend into thicker root-like structures with a bronze match striker to the fore.
The whole piece remains in a very good condition throughout.
A fantastic object.
