A striking 18th century pastel of a young girl with blue eyes and dress. 

There looks to be some rubbing/fading to the pastel background to the top right of the work, but otherwise the work iremains in a very good condition. The frame is painted gilt, but the most interesting aspect is verso where the boards appear to have been burnt.

An intriguing work and a definite talking piece.
